The Water, electricity, gas and other fuels division recorded a decline of 0.86% in the current month, reversing the increase of 8.17% observed in the previous month.
Overview
The annual change in the Consumer Price Index recorded an increase of 19.04% in May 2026 compared with May 2025.
As for the monthly change in the Consumer Price Index for May, the following rates were recorded across the governorates:
• An increase of 0.35% in Beirut Governorate
• An increase of 0.58% in Mount Lebanon Governorate
• An increase of 0.37% in North Lebanon Governorate
• An increase of 0.39% in Bekaa Governorate
• An increase of 0.82% in South Lebanon Governorate
• A decrease of 0.03% in Nabatieh Governorate
*Note: Due to the continued prevailing conditions, the price collection process continues to face challenges, particularly in Nabatieh Governorate, where the Consumer Price Index was calculated using a large number of imputed prices, as the collection of most prices was not possible.
