About the International Comparison Program
The International Comparison Program (ICP) is a global statistical initiative coordinated by the World Bank under the auspices of the United Nations Statistical Commission. It collects comparable price and expenditure data from participating economies to produce purchasing power parities (PPPs), price level indexes (PLIs), and internationally comparable measures of gross domestic product and its expenditure components.
As a participating country, Lebanon collects accurate and reliable price data for a common basket of precisely specified goods and services, ensuring comparability with other participating economies.
Data collection covers household consumption, machinery and equipment, construction, residential rents, private education, and government expenditure.
